Baku-APA. Two people were killed Friday when a convoy of African Union peacekeepers was attacked by a suicide car bomber in the Somali capital Mogadishu, police and witnesses said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
The suicide bomber rammed his car into the armored vehicles of the Africa Union Peacekeeping Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), killing two bystanders, police said.
"We believe the vehicle was driven by a single terrorist who tried to hit the AMISOM vehicle. The vehicle was slightly damaged, but two civilians in the vicinity were killed and others injured," police officer Ahmed Yonis told Xinhua.
It is not immediately clear who is responsible for the attack, which followed several other suicide bomb attacks in recent weeks claimed by insurgent with al-Qaida links.
