Baku-APA. Tunisia's Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali said Saturday that the line-up of a new cabinet will be announced next week, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

In a statement to Western ambassadors in Tunis, Jebali said that the new Tunisian cabinet, composed of technocrats, will be announced in the middle of next week.

Jebali said that neither him nor the would-be new ministerial candidates would run for the upcoming elections, adding that he would continue to accept propositions of ministerial candidates from main political parties until Monday.

Jebali said that the criteria for becoming ministerial candidates include acknowledged competence, a clean criminal record and the absence of political affiliation.

"In case the cabinet line-up is accepted by the country's political parties, I will not resort to the constituent assembly for approval," Jebali said. "Otherwise, I will ask the president of the republic to designate another person to form a new government."

The announcement was made one day after the mass funeral of Chokri Belaid, a leading opposition figure who was assassinated Wednesday, in a bid to prevent the country from sinking into anarchy and to solve the deepening political and economic crisis.
