Baku-APA. Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi pledged Monday to mediate in bringing peace to Sudan and South Sudan, and offered to provide all possible assistance to Sudan, official MENA news agency reported, APA reports quoting Xinhua.
Presidency spokesman Yasser Ali was quoted by MENA as saying that Morsi made the pledge during his meeting with Sudanese President Assistant Abdoul-Rahman al-Sadiq.
Morsi said Egypt is willing to seek along with the two sides for a comprehensive solution to all pendent problems between them, Ali added.
For his part, Sadig informed Morsi of the latest developments in several issues between Sudan and South Sudan.
Sudan and South Sudan have been negotiating on their outstanding disputes since South Sudan was officially declared independent on July 9, 2011.
