Baku-APA.Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on Friday vowed that Sudanese opposition parties, signatories to a recent document for toppling the government, would be held accountable, official SUNA news agency reported.
"Sudan will not be ruled but by the will of the Sudanese people, " al-Bashir said while addressing a mass gathering in Gezira State in central Sudan Friday.
The Sudanese president called on the opposition parties to resort to polling boxes to achieve power, according to the report.
Last week, the Sudanese Revolutionary Front Alliance and opposition parties signed the "New Dawn" document in the Ugandan capital Kampala with the aim of toppling the government in Khartoum.
Over 20 opposition parties, civil society organizations and youth movements signed the document in addition to the revolutionary front which brings together the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM)/northern sector, the Darfur rebel Justice and Equality Movement (JEM), the Sudan Liberation Army ( SLA)/ Abdul-Wahid Mohamed Nur faction and the SLA/Minni Minawi faction.
