Egypt to announce result of cabinet reshuffle Thursday

Baku-APA. Egypt will announce the result of government reshuffle Thursday, official MENA news agency reported Wednesday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

MENA quoted a source from the cabinet as saying that there will be a limited cabinet reshuffle on Thursday morning, which includes the replacement of four ministers, namely, the ministers of higher education, culture, manpower and parliamentary affairs.

Egypt’s ruling military council chief Hussein Tantawi assured Speaker of the People’s Assembly (lower house) Mohamed Saad Katatni on April 29 that the ruling military council would change some ministers in the cabinet, after Katatni decided earlier the same day to suspend the parliament’s sessions to May 6 in a bid to urge an immediate dismiss of the Ganzouri cabinet.

Ganzouri’s cabinet was appointed on Nov. 25, 2011, by the ruling military council, which handed power after toppling former President Hosni Mubarak in February of 2011.
