Baku-APA. Two primitive bombs and nine empty machine gun shells were spotted near al-Nour mosque in Cairo’s Abbaseya, an area that has witnessed deadly clashes between inhabitants and protestors, state media reported on Monday, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

A citizen named Mohy Mortada found the bombs and shells, and the Waily police station officers later confiscated them, official news agency MENA reported.

One was killed and more than 100 were injured Saturday in clashes between supporters of unqualified presidential candidate Hazem Abou Ismail and inhabitants of Abbaseya district.

The clashes broke out during a march organized by Abou Ismail supporters from the Tahrir square to Abbaseya district, where the Defense Ministry is located. As the march caused a crippled traffic in Abbaseya, the inhabitants tried to thwart it, which led to serious quarrels between the two sides.

Abou Ismail supporters are in an open-ended sit-in in Tahrir square to protest the decision of the presidential elections commission which excluded Abou Ismail from the presidential contest because his mother had a U.S. passport.
