Baku-APA. The Nigerian House of Representatives has reiterated its commitment to the implementation of a recent report on the nation’s fuel subsidy regime, House Speaker Aminu Tambuwal said here Tuesday, APA reports.

Tambuwal made the announcement at a plenary session where the parliament considered the report clause-by-clause.

The ad hoc committee responsible for monitoring the fuel subsidy regime, led by chairman Farouk Lawan, submitted its report last week.

While presenting the report to the House on April 18, Lawan recommended that some companies refund 1.07 trillion naira (about 6.8 billion U.S. dollars) to the government treasury.

Tambuwal said the House is prepared and determined to make sacrifice to stand on the side of ordinary Nigerians whose interest it safeguards.
