Explosion rocks soccer viewing center in Nigeria: police

Baku-APA. An explosion rocked a football viewing center in Nigeriaâ€™s central north city of Jos on Tuesday night, the police said, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

Plateau State commissioner of police Dipo Ayeni confirmed this to Xinhua, saying that the number of casualties cannot be confirmed now.

A Xinhua reporter in the restive city said three persons were injured in the blast that rocked a football center at Tudun Wada in Jos north area of Plateau.

According to him, the affected persons have been rushed to the hospital while the youths in the area are demanding for the immediate withdrawal of security from the area.

He said security personnel have condoned off the area and dispersed the protesting youths.

There is no immediate claim of responsibility from any group. The blast occurred when the European Champions League match between Chelsea football club of England and FC Barcelona of Spain was going on.
