Addressing the 11th International Baku Conference of Ombudspersons, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Hijran Huseynova said that the number of female civil servants reached 28% and female entrepreneurs 17%.
According to her, 50% of Doctors of Philosophy and 40% of those involved in physical education and sport are women: “The representation of women in the Azerbaijani Parliament reached 16%. The number of women elected as members of municipalities increased by 5 times and made 27%. Moreover, 1 out of 3 vice-speakers of the parliament, 1 out of 3 deputy chairpersons of the Chamber of Auditors, chairperson of a state committee, chairperson of a commission, 3 deputy ministers, commissioner for human rights, deputy chairperson of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Cabinet of Ministers and deputy chairperson of the Constitutional Court are women.”
