A major fire broke out in a hangar near the Arsenal plant in St. Petersburg, APA’s Russia bureau reports, citing local media.
,Four people were killed as a result of the fire.
It was reported that the fire, which started on the evening of June 8 in a hangar on Mineralnaya Street, covered an area of approximately 1,500 square meters. The fire was extinguished within 24 hours.
The infrastructure of the October Railway at the station was damaged. The bodies of two people were found under a collapsed fence, while the bodies of two others were discovered inside the hangar.
Two people were also injured and hospitalized.
According to preliminary information, the fire was caused by an acetone explosion. Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case on charges of violating safety regulations (Article 216 of the Criminal Code).
