Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu is in stable condition, Valeh Hajiyev, first deputy chairman of the Azerbaijani State Committee on Work with Diaspora, told APA.
“As his health deteriorated unexpectedly, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu was admitted to the Central Clinic Hospital right after receiving first aid. After professional medical care provided to him at the hospital, Ihsanoglu is now in stable condition,” said Hajiyev, adding that the Turkish MP’s health condition is in the focus of President Ilham Aliyev’s attention.
It is worth noting that Ihsanoglu is participating in the Global Baku Forum for the first time.
His health suddenly worsened while making a speech during today’s panel session and his speech remain incomplete.
Ihsanoglu suffered a heart attack. A stent was installed in his coronary artery. He is still receiving treatment.
