Most pharmaceutical products are imported to Azerbaijan from Europe, Elmin Guliyev, head of the pharmaceutical control sector of the Analytical Expertise Center of the Health Ministry, said on Tuesday, APA reported.
“After Europe, the pharmaceutical market is dominated by medicines imported from Russia, CIS countries and Turkey. Azerbaijan also imports medicines from Bangladesh and India, but their number is less,” he noted.
Ulduz Eyvazova, a senior specialist of medicines registration and examination department of the Analytical Expertise Center, said that rug poisonings occur when medications are not used properly and are not kept at home in a normal condition after being bought from a pharmacy.
“Drug poisoning is not related to the poor quality of medications. Also, medications should be kept in places where children can not get them. Sometimes children take not a one-day, but a daily dose, and that causes poisoning,” she added.
