A grand event themed “Chronicle of Victory” was held in London on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of the Glorious Victory in the Patriotic War, organized by the British Azerbaijanis Association (BAA) and supported by the State Committee for Work with Diaspora, APA reports.
The event began with the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, after which the dear memory of our heroic martyrs was honored with a one-minute moment of silence.
At the event, the English-language edition of the book “The History of the Patriotic War: Personality Factor,” a joint project of the Baku City Executive Authority and the Institute of History, was presented.
It was noted that this book, already published in 10 languages, covers the stages starting from the First Karabakh War, the 44-day Patriotic War, and the early post-war years of reconstruction and return to the liberated lands, as one of the first attempts to generalize the history of the war. The publication extensively highlights the chronicle of the 44-day Patriotic War, the heroism of the martyrs, and the political-military aspects of the Victory.
At the event, Azerbaijan’s ambassador to the United Kingdom Elin Suleymanov, the head of the British Azerbaijanis Association Hafiz Bakhshaliyev, Türkiye’s ambassador to this country Koray Ertaş, the vice-rector for science and innovations of ASU Asaf Zamanov, and representatives of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora delivered speeches.
The speeches emphasized that the Glorious Victory won in the Patriotic War was achieved thanks to the great intellect and wise leadership qualities of the head of state, Ilham Aliyev. This once again proves the role of the personality factor in history.
The event concluded with an artistic program. Well-known performers Rasim Farziyev and his ensemble, Emiliya Yagubova, and Farhad Amiri performed Azerbaijani folk and composed songs.
