The Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov, had a telephone conversation with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Gela Geladze, in connection with the crash of a military cargo plane belonging to the Turkish Air Force in Georgian territory, APA reports, citing the Press Service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
During the phone call, the situation related to the tragic incident was discussed.
Minister K. Heydarov noted that, in accordance with the instruction of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, the forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan are fully ready to immediately join the search and rescue operation and to take other relevant support measures.
The Georgian Minister, G. Geladze, expressed his gratitude and stated that, if any need arise, the rescue forces of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations, which are currently on standby at the border, will be called upon to take part in the operations.
It was noted that contact between the two institutions continues.
