The holding of the 26th International Conference of the heads of fire-rescue services of member countries of the International Sports Federation of Firefighters and Rescuers in our country is of great importance for us, said Minister of Emergency Situations Kamaladdin Heydarov at the opening ceremony of the XXVI International Conference, APA reports.
The minister noted that this is an important step in expanding international cooperation:
“Throughout history, people have faced natural and man-made events. Azerbaijan is a country with natural and man-made risks. In recent years, the creation of industrial and infrastructure networks in our country has also made the issue of protection from emergencies relevant. The Ministry of Emergency Situations, established in 2005 by the order of President Ilham Aliyev, responds promptly to incidents. The ministry is expanding cooperation at the international level. The formation of the fire-fighting system in Azerbaijan has a long history."
