A national target for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the related “Updated, 3rd Nationally Determined Contributions” document have been approved under the Paris Agreement, APA reports.
Prime Minister Ali Asadov signed the decision regarding the approval.
The achievement of the approved national target should take into account the possibility of increasing financial resources—additional international financial support (preferential loans, private sector investment, etc.), availability of technology, technology transfer, level of technological development, support for capacity building, and absorption by forests and other ecosystems.
According to the decision, the national target and the related “Updated, 3rd Nationally Determined Contributions” (NDC 3.0) document have been approved, aiming for a 40 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2035 compared to the 1990 baseline year.
