Water level will continue to be high in the Kura and Araz rivers

The water level of the Kura in Yevlakh rose by 20cm, in Zardab by 4cm, in Salyan by 6cm. The water level of the Araz river in Novruzlu settlement reduced by 6cm, the water level of the Garasu river in Zardab reduced by 5cm. Acting director of Hydrometeorological Forecasts Bureau of the Hydrometeorological Department of Ecology and Natural Resources Ministry Umayra Tagiyeva told APA that the water level in the Kura and Araz rivers will continue to be high.

Umayra Tagiyeva said the water level is high in the rivers in Guba-Khachmaz, Balaken-Shaki, Gabala-Ismayilli, Gazakh-Ganja region and Terterchay. A great deal of water is being drained from Serseng reservoir. The scope of the water makes up 76 cu m/sec. The water level in the rivers in Lankaran-Astara is normal and a little below normal.

Umayra Tagiyeva said the water level will continue to be high, some rivers are predicted to overflow in connection with the showers in some regions and in the territory of Georgia by May 15-16. Though on May 16, beginning from afternoon, the weather will become stable, on May 17 it will be mainly rainless, the water level will continue to be high as the snow on the mountains will melt, but compared with the previous days the water level will relatively reduce and approach the ten-day norm.
