-Unpleasant reports have spread about you in Azerbaijani media. A woman called Shamsiyya Beylergizi claims to be your wife and says you are father of her son. What can you say about it?

-My mission as ambassador was to expire within a month. I was to return to my country. Iranâ€™s new authorities considered me Mr. Hatemiâ€™s ambassador. At that time a woman called Shamsiyya Beylergizi came to me and gave some of her books. Two of them were about Ali Insanov. She said she wanted to publish a book of my interviews titled â€œThe diplomat considering Azerbaijan his motherlandâ€. She gave me a calling card showing that she is chairperson of NGO named Center of Examination and Defense and said the organization was supported by Japan. She also said she was vice-president of an NGO Forum in Japan. She also showed a membership card of the Journalistsâ€™ Union. She did not ask money for the book and I thought that she was a disinterested, good person. The book was presented in February 2006. After that my mission ended. I had to stay in Baku because of my sonâ€™s education. Shamsiyya Beylergizi offered me to write memoirs. She pretended to have close contacts with the senior Azerbaijani officials. I introduced this woman to some persons, who wanted to make business in Azerbaijan. She took their money and deceived them with counterfeit documents. After it was revealed, I appealed to Interior Ministry.

-After you appealed to the law-enforcement bodies, the woman undertook to return the embezzled money and house. What happened?

-She undertook to return $400,000 of $1.2 million. But she did not return it. When she saw that I contacted Baku and demand the money, she began blackmailing me. She gave interview to ATV channel. She sent a part of the counterfeit documents to Iran. Iran was preparing for the presidential elections at that time. I was head of Mir Hossein Mousaviâ€™s election campaign in Erdebil. A group of persons pretending to be reformers wanted to stain me. They contacted this woman, too. I served the joint interests while working in Azerbaijan. I did not act against Azerbaijan or Iran. I want the Azerbaijani authorities that I respect very much to take measures. This person has released counterfeit document saying that she is my wife. Moreover, she claims that I am her childâ€™s father.

-Has the house been returned?

-Yes, it has been.

-What did you do?

-I sold the house and paid my debts. I also sold my house in Tehran, my childrenâ€™s car. She must return at least $400,000.

-But she does not returnâ€¦

-I have a lawyer. His name is Fakhraddin Mehdiyev I want this woman to present the document proving our marriage to the court. She does not have this document.

-Shamsiyya Beylergizi says she has a son. She even released the documents saying that she had undergone artificial insemination in Istanbul by your consent.

-This document is counterfeit. She called me from Turkey several times saying that the Azerbaijani government does not allow transfer of the money. She invited me to Istanbul two or three times. The marriage certificate is counterfeit. Why did she undergo artificial insemination, if I had married her?

-Many families can do it.

-If she is not able to give birth to a child, she can not undergo artificial insemination.

-I want to ask you sincerely. Did you have any intimate relations with that woman?

-No, I did not.

-Why have you embraced in the photos?

-One can take somebodyâ€™s hand while having his photos taken. This woman had planned something while having these photos taken. I did not know itâ€¦ She herself took my hand. There a woman can even kiss any man. You know that it does not give grounds for accusations.

-What would you do, if you video was released?

-She may release if she has. I demand an official marriage certificate. I was not in Turkey when she underwent artificial insemination. I want this woman to return the peopleâ€™s money. The court will consider our case. I demand the document proving that I was in Turkey when she underwent artificial insemination, the court must also clarify basing on which marriage certificate the artificial insemination was permitted. If Azerbaijanâ€™s official bodies prove these documents, I am ready to yield. I have signed none of the documents.

-How old are you?

-I will be 50.

-Are you married?

-Yes, I am.

-What does your wife say to this?

-She knows that this woman is a swindler. Once this woman took my phone and got all the phone numbers. Then she sent messages to some of them. She also sent messages to my wife. But my wife believes me.

-Where are your children?

-They are studying at the university in Tehran.

-What are you doing?

-I am on a pension. I am trying to clarify the present situation.

-They said you were arrested in Tehran?

-It was that womanâ€™s lies. I was not arrested.

-Did you have any problems for supporting Mir Hossain Mousavi?

-I have always expressed my opinion and will continue doing it. I have a webpage, where I express my views openly.

-Are you together with Mir Hossain Mousavi now?

-I support his views. During the elections a group of cheaters around Mousavi together with Shamsiyya acted against me. I wrote a letter to Mousavi and informed about them. My letter has been posted on the internet.

-How do you assess the current state of Iran-Azerbaijan relations?

- I am satisfied with these relations.

-Why?

-Not all the opportunities are used. There are some unsolved issued. Our relations are not as deep as the Iranians and Azerbaijani expect.

-What can you say about Iranâ€™s abolishing visa regime with Azerbaijan?

-I also welcome Azerbaijanisâ€™ travel to Iran. But there are a number of problems. The visa regime should have been abolished after these problems are solved.

-Will you agree, if the present Iranian authorities offer you a job?

-No, I will not. I am a fair person. I was ambassador to Ukraine. Moreover, for 15-16 years I was engaged in the field of relations with CIS members.

-Despite you experience as a diplomat, there is still much that you do not know in the lifeâ€¦

-This woman pretended to be a writer and deceived me. I have never seen a swindling writer. I have never seen, or dreamed a swindler, liar like Shamsiyyaâ€¦
