Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu – APA-Economics. In January-September 2015, 39.3 mln tonnes of cargo were transported through Azerbaijan part of TARCECA. Cargo turnover made 8,313.1 mln ton/km.
According to State Statistical Committee, 22.86 mln tonnes or 58.2% of cargos were transported by motor transports, 11.70 mln tonnes or 29.8% by railway transport and 4.72 mln tonnes or 12.0% by sea transport.
Compared to a year earlier, the cargos transported via the corridor fell 9.3%. This was caused by decline in cargo transportations via railway and sea transport (relevantly 21.3% and 30.8%). Freight via motor transport rose 5.8%.
18.3% or 7.2 mln tonnes of transported cargos made transit cargos.
In January-September 2015, 247.5 mln passengers were transported via the corridor. Passenger turnover made 5,003.7 mln, up 7.8% in annual comparison.
