Azerbaijan to inform the Russian government on application of new standards for motor vehicles

Baku. Elnur Huseynguluyev - APA-Economics. In the near future, Azerbaijan will inform the Russian government in order to introduce the country’s ban on the import and production of vehicles without antilock brake system (ABS) and airbags.

Chairman of the State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev says after informing the customs authorities of the Russian government, customs organs will start the application of the decision: â€œThis is a normal process. If there is a decision on this issue, from May 1, the Customs service will apply itâ€.

Remind that, according to the decision of the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents of Azerbaijan, from May 1 this year import and production of vehicles without antilock brake system (ABS) and airbags will be banned in Azerbaijan. Permission for manufacture and importation of such vehicles will not be issued.
