Cargo transportation via transport sector increases by 5% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. In January-February, 2012, the economic subjects operating in transport sector of Azerbaijan transported AZN 31.5 mln tons of cargo, up 5.3% compared to last year.

According to SSC, the volume of non-oil cargos rose 10.3% during the reporting period: â€œ47.8% of cargos were transported by motor road, 33.4% - pipelines, 11.6% - railway, 7.2% - sea transport. Cargo transportation in non-state sector grew by 3.6%.

At the same time, in January-February, transport workers consumed transport services to 237.4 mln people, up 8.8% compared to last year. 86.85 of passengers used vehicles, 12.9% - metro.
