Flydubai interested in launching of direct flights to other regions of Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. flydubai Airlines is always seeking for new opportunities in direction of launching new routes and extension of flight network. Head of the company Gate Al Gheit says flydubai plans to launch flights on new routes: â€œDubai city is located in a very favorable place from geographic standpoint and it lets flydubai company to overcome 1/3 part of the world until 5 hours, which means transportation of 2.5 bln passengers. That is why the company has great potential for organization of flights on new routesâ€.

â€œCurrently, flydubai implements flights to 28 countries, including Persian Gulf Arab states, the Near and Middle East, Africa, Indian subcontinent, Asia and European countriesâ€, said Gate Al Gheit.

As to launching of new flights, he noted that the company would start flights on several new directions in 2012: â€œRecently, we have launched direct flights from Dubai to Baghdad and Najaf in Iraq, Taif in Saudi Arabia, Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan. In April we will start to implement flights to Yemenâ€™s capital Sanaa and it is just the beginning. We intend to extend this listâ€.

Note that, flydubai implements flights from Baku to Dubai on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 15.30 by Boeing 737-NG800 aircraft. Current price of roundtrip ticket is AZN 243.

Government-owned flydubai was established in 2008 and began commercial flights from June, 2009. It currently operates to more than 45 destinations.
