Azerbaijan participating in the â€œConnect Arab Summitâ€

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-Economics. Azerbaijanâ€™s Minister of Communications and IT Ali Abasov is participating in the Connect Arab Summit 2012, organized within the framework of the cooperation of International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and the League of Arab States.

ITU considered expedient the participation of Azerbaijan from viewpoint of that Trans-Eurasian Information Superhighway (TASIM) project will bring benefit to the Arabian world.

The summit will be devoted to science, knowledge, education, internet access and access to information, development of a strong regional ICT network, cyber security, youth, innovation, entrepreneurship and etc issues. Several statesmen, heads of global technological companies will attend the event. Ali Abasov is planned to lecture on TASIM project and cyber security at the panel session and final plenary meeting.

The visit considers: signing of intergovernmental Memorandum of Understanding; holding of bilateral business meetings with Minister on ICT of Qatar Hessa Sultan Al-Jaber, leadership of Qatar Satellite Company, Qatar National Broadband Network Company, Qtel companies and etc; visit to Qatar Science and Technology Park.
