Cargo and passenger transportations in transport sector increase by 6% and 8% in January, Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. In January, 2012, 16.4 mln tons of cargo and 114.6 mln passengers were transported in transported sector, in Azerbaijan, up 6.4% AND 8.3%.

Non-oil cargo rose 10.7% during the reporting period: â€œ47.2% of cargo were transported by motor transport, 33.6% - by pipeline, 11.9% - by railway and 7.3% - by sea transportâ€.

Cargo transportation in non-state sector soared 4.6%.

86.2% of passengers were transported by car, 13.4% - by metro.
