Azercell publicizes financial indicators for 2011

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-Economics. The leading mobile operator in Azerbaijan - Azercell Telecom has invested $1 bn in countryâ€™s economy over the past years, head of the Department of Finance of Azercell Ahmed Karimov said.

In 2011, the company invested 170.2 million dollars in the economy of the country, and for 15 years, this figure reached 1.055 billion dollars.

â€œIn 2011, Azercell payments to the state budget amounted to 136.1 million dollars or 1.85% of the state budget, and for 15 years - more than $ 1 billion."

In 2011, Azercell has put $ 1.2 million in social projects implemented in Azerbaijan, within 15 years - $ 15.9 million.

Azercell has been in operation since 1996. The share of Azercell in mobile market of the country is 55%. The company’s network covers 99.8% of the population.
