Azercell President Ali Agan says though application of 3G service was delayed, 4G will be launched in time on the eve of the mentioned contest.

“ We have applied to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in order to obtain a license on provision of 4G services and the talks are underway on the issue. The introduction of 4G will open wider opportunities for subcribers”, said Agan.

Remind that, besides Azercell, Azerfon and Bakcell companies have also applied to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in order to obtain a license on provision of 4G services. Azercell has already undertaken a pilot project to launch 4G-network in the regions. The pilot project is being implemented on the territory of Nakhchivan State University, in cooperation with the Chinese company ZTE. The pilot project will cover 108 hectares of territory, and four thousand students.

4G will offer Internet access at speeds of 80 megabits per second.
