Bakcell signs as a National Supporter for the FIFA U-17 Womenâ€™s World Cup 2012

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. Bakcell, The First Mobile Operator and The Leading Mobile Internet Provider of Azerbaijan, is pleased to be one of the first companies of Azerbaijan supporting the FIFA U-17 Womenâ€™s World Cup. On February 14, 2012 Bakcell CEO Richard Shearer was part of the certificate handover ceremony at the FIFA headquarter in Zurich.

Baku and Lankaran will host the 2012 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup from 22 September to 13 October, 2012. Bakcell will provide crucial local support for the tournament, assisting FIFA and the Local Organizing Committee in promoting and delivering the event.

This initiative is a part of the â€œState Program for Development of Football in Azerbaijan in 2005-2015â€ aimed at development and improvement of football infrastructure and football education, and promotes healthily lifestyle among the population.

â€œThe FIFA U-17 Womenâ€™s World Cup should be a great occasion for the Azerbaijani peopleâ€ said Richard Shearer, CEO of Bakcell, â€œFootball is the peopleâ€™s game and Bakcell is the peopleâ€™s mobile operator, weâ€™re delighted to be so closely involved in the event and to be among the first companies of the county supporting FIFA U-17 Womenâ€™s World Cupâ€.

Their knowledge of the Azerbaijani market and efforts to promote the event in the Host Country are a crucial component in our drive to deliver a fantastic event this summerâ€.
Bakcell is sure that the first authoritative sporting event held in Azerbaijan will led to bring other high level international competitions to Azerbaijan.
