Baku. Ali Ahmadov – APA-Economics. Due to heavy snowfall and blizzard in Azerbaijan’s territory, the number of buses in Baku has been reduced by 3 times. Transport Ministry’s spokesman Namig Hasanov says about 720 buses have been put into routes today in the city. Let us say for comparison that about 2300-2400 buses work every day in the capital. The buses mainly operate in the central and lower (not mountainous) parts of the city.
But soon, because of impossible movement in some parts of the city, a part of these buses can be pulled out from the line too: “The traffic has become hard in direction of Yeni Gunashli, Hovsan, Ehmedli and etc. Buses can not move, a tunnel in Hovsan-Zig direction filled up with snow. That is why, those buses will be returned back to garages in the coming hours, because, it is more expedient step from viewpoint of safety of passengersâ€.
Hasanov noted that due to weather condition, timetable of buses will be shortened today. Note that, the buses worked until 22.00 during the recent days: “If the weather will go on in such a manner, the buses will work until 20.00-21.00â€.
Hasanov also reminded Hot Line of the Ministry: “(012) 562 77 02, (012) 431 74 37.
