TRACECA cargo and passenger transportation increases in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. 49.1 million tonnes of cargo and 220.3 million passengers were transported in January-November, 2011 in the Azerbaijani part of Europe-Caucasus-Asia corridor (TRACECA).

Cargo turnover was increased 4.7% and passenger transport 8.1% in comparison with outcomes of 2010, the state statistics committee told APA-ECONOMICS.

43.4% of cargo was carried by cars, 37.5% - railway, 19.1% - sea transport and cargo transportation was increased in all types of transport, including 7.7% - cars, 11.9% â€“ sea transport.

Cargo transportation incomes were AZN 334.4 million and passenger transportation â€“ AZN 68.1 million, which exceeds the previous yearâ€™s outcomes respectively 14.1% and 21.1%.
