Computer Emergency Response Team issues statement on cyber attacks made to Azerbaijanâ€™s several websites

The statement in CERT.gov.az says that the cyber attacks were made to Azerbaijanâ€™s several websites starting with 11.30 on January 12, 2012.

216.gov.az domain, located in the data center of the Special State Protection Service was also attacked during the cyber attacks: â€œThe hackers couldnâ€™t enter to the hosting systems as a result of security measures, no problems occurred. But the problems occurred in the activity of 7 websites situated in the system. The interferences were recorded by us and the activity of the websites was resumed.

More than 9000 attempts to interfere in the hosting system were recorded last year and all of them were prevented: â€œIn general, the corresponding state bodies are taking measures for the purpose of increasing the security of the websites of the state bodiesâ€.

Minister of Communications and IT Ali Abbasov said that 24 of cyber attacks were made from Iran, 1 from the Netherlands. Minister sent a letter to his Iranian counterpart on it.
