Azerbaijani Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies holds board meeting

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev – APA-Economics. Azerbaijani Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies held a board meeting on outcomes of 2011 today.
APA-Economics reports that Minister of Communication and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov underlined the development of ICT sector, the increase of incomes and sector’s role in economy and the increase of quality and types of services as well. He also noted that the size of ICT, information and post sector’s incomes increased 13% in 2011 in comparison to last year: “In comparison to last year the development rate is 12% in ICT sector, 9,8% in telecommunication sector, 5% in post section and 33% in information section.
The minister also noted that 75.3 % of the incomes in ICT sector, information and post sections fell to the private sector’s share.
“66% percent of incomes in ICT sector fell to mobile sector’s share and in comparison to last year the growth rate was 3,6%. Last year share of incomes in ICT, post and information sectors in GDP was 1.8%, but in non-oil GDP – 3.7%â€, said Abbasov.
The organizations and enterprises being subordinate to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies received AZN 346.8 million against the forecasted AZN 302.5 million, which exceeded the forecasts by 14.6%, but in comparison to 2010 outcomes - by 24.9%. These organizations and enterprises transferred 37 million AZN to the state budget and 15,6 million AZN to the State Social Defense Fund.
The organizations and entries including to Ministry Communication and Information Technologies invested 144,5 million AZN to make communication space in accordance with the world standards in 2011. Generally 415 million AZN invested in the sector in 2011, which doubled the figures of 2010. AZN 246 million of investment was made by the communication operators and AZN 144 million was paid by the organizations and enterprises of the Ministry.
Chiefs of the organizations and enterprises of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies reported about the work done in 2011. Ali Abbasov entrusted the chiefs of the organizations and enterprises with relevant tasks.
