Ministry of Communications and IT comments on recent hacker attacks on Azerbaijanâ€™s websites

To him, on January 16, Information-Accounts Center of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies and Special Communication and Information Security Department of Special State Protection Service were attacked by hackers: â€œAs a result, websites of some state agencies and public organizations could not operate. Immediately after the incident, the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies took the situation under control together with the related organs.

It was determined that, the websites were interfered in by posting photos and information on it. Forms of the attack, sending of e-mails about it to media organizations, realization of the process from different geographical places shows its purposeful character. But no serious problems occurred thanks to organization of Internet use in the country, creation of websites, works done on their security. At present time, the activity of the attacked websites has been restored.

The actions of hackers happen daily in different countries of the world. We condemn such cases, call their activities illegal and urge to deviate from such acts. Currently, investigation is underway on the fact, appropriate steps will be taken on the basis of this investigation in accordance with the international practice. We will inform the public about the done worksâ€.
