Olly Norojono: â€œAzerbaijan should pay attention to logistics and border crossingâ€

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev - APA-Economics. ADB has begun actively participate in transport sector of Azerbaijan, Olly Norojono, Head of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Azerbaijan.

To him, number of vehicles in Asia every 5-7 years, growing twice: â€œIn the region where per capita are in 5000 dollars of GDP for every 1,000 people there were 100 cars. Due to the fact that in Azerbaijan, per capita are in 6000 dollars of GDP, the figure is much higher. In 2010, in Azerbaijan for every 1,000 people there were 110 carsâ€.

Norojono noted that the ADB and in the future will increase its attention to the transport sector, including the railway sector. â€œAzerbaijan should build underground parking and pedestrian crossings. In general, the transport sector of Azerbaijan should pay attention to logistics and border crossing in order to decrease the delays. Of course, the new port, which is under construction, will improve the situation in this areaâ€.
