Minister of communications and information technologies Ali Abbasov says that currently, negotiations are underway with Baku Telephone Communication Production Unit and Aztelekom, as well as Azerfon in connection with shortest restoration of CATEL’s activity: “The works in this sphere have been intensified in order to eliminate the problem in a short timeâ€.
Note that, CATEL is Azerbaijan’s first mobile operator on CDMA standard. It was established in 1997. It offers wireless connection services to WLL telephone subscribers. All shares of CATEL were privatized in 2008. In April, 2011, the activity of the company was stopped because of technical disorder.
