Nokia lowers Smartphone prices
The company decided the lower the Smartphone prices in order to bring back the top Smartphone on the success list of their segment, according to Reuters. Starting this month, all the Smartphone models from Nokia’s portfolio will be cheaper, because the company is worried about their top Smartphone interest that could be related to the price. One of the Reuters sources said that the biggest reduction will be at the best Smartphone from Nokia, N8, followed by C7 and the business device E6.
The reduction will be up to 15 percent. The other units will have too to a new price reorder, but not this consistent. The Nokia spokesman declined to comment the lowering prices measure, but he added that changes are part of the business and you have to face them. The Finnish company is expected to have a loss profit in the second and third trimester of this year and the main reason is losing the market share of their products in front of Google Android Smartphone devices. In the first trimester, Nokia’s market share was lower until 25.5 percent, comparing with the 39 percent last year, according to the Gartner’s statistics.
The analysts are expecting of a new decrease until the end of this year. In June, Nokia gave the first place at the sells segment of the top Smartphone to the North Korean manufacturer Samsung. The Galaxy S launching, the Smartphone with Google Android platform and very much like Apple’s iPhone, was the one that dethroned Nokia as the leader. More, the experts think that Apple needs a few months, not more than three, to step in front of Nokia. This happens when the Finnish manufacturer is practically the inventor of the Smartphone, because of their Communicator model that was launched in 1996. More, for several years, Communicator was strong related to the business idea, fast and easy communication. After 14 years in the leader’s position, Nokia has to find new solutions if they want to face the Smartphone inventions and new attractive features. The company will go to the Microsoft software from their own Symbian platform, as a part of the new strategy that Nokia announced in February. On May 31, the company gave up the annual financial targets and from that moment there were several questions regarding the new Executive’s promises of revival the company.
