General Director of customs service of Argentina is on a visit to Azerbaijan
Chairman of Azerbaijan State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev told journalists that, cooperation between two countries would be discussed between the customs services of two countries. Besides, the regional office of World Customs Organization will be launched in Baku, in October. According to A. Aliyev, Azerbaijan will learn Argentina’s experience in organization of such offices: “Argentina Customs Service was considered as the best customs service of 2010 for infringing goods in WCO’s Brussels session on June 25. Azerbaijan intends to learn their experience in this sphereâ€.
Besides, during the meeting Ms. Ayeran claimed that prospects of Argentina-Azerbaijan trade growth would be covered within her visit. "Despite the fact that trade links between the two countries have been established recently, Azerbaijan and Argentina already have trade turnover. We’re ready to raise the issue of exports of wine and other products from Argentina to Azerbaijan. We’re also ready to assist to establishment of ties between pharmaceutical companies of the two countries," she added.
According to Mr. Aliyev, bilateral trade turnover between their countries amounted to $17 million in 2008, $19 million in 2009, $30 million in 2010 and another $12 million over 5 months of 2011, in particular, there is certain growth.
"Ms. Ayeran is accompanied by dog specialists, and we will present our own dog service, tell of introduction of one stop shop for customs service and risk management. Argentina has been recognized as a world leader in the fight against counterfeiting, and we’re ready study its experience," Aliyev said.
