Cargo transportation via sea transport rises 12% in Azerbaijan

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Cargo transportation via sea transport increased by 11.7% to 5.1 mln tons, in January-May, 2011.

According to SSC, 58.2% of cargo was oil, 41.8% was dry cargo. Generally, 5.2 mln tons loading-unloading operations were conducted during the reporting period, up 28% compared to a year ago. Volume of international transit cargo rose 25%, volume of imported goods â€“ 76.2%.
