Cargo transportation via railway drops 5% year-on-year

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Cargo transportation via railway declined 4.5% to 8.5 mln tons, during January-May, 2011, compared to a year earlier.

According to State Statistical Committee, 651 wagons have been entrained, 413 wagons detrained per day. 31,300 tons entraining was realized on northern direction, 3,400 tons â€“ western direction, 2,700 tons â€“ southern direction, compared to a year ago. Entraining works on northern direction and southern direction dropped 8.5% and 13%, on western directions rose 17.2%.
