Azerbaijan sees 38% growth in passenger transportation by air transport

Baku. Nijat Mustafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Increase in passenger transportation via air transport continued in January-May, 2011.

467.5 mln passengers have been transported by air transport during the reporting period, up 38.3% from year earlier, said the State Statistical Committee. Of this, 98.1% was implemented by state sector, 1.9% by private sector.

Besides, 37.3 thousand tons of cargo was transported via air transport within 5 months of the current year.

Note that, at present, 5 airports are operating in Azerbaijan.
