The average speed in Azerbaijan railway to be 120 km/hour

Baku. Ali Ahmedov â€“ APA-Economics. Reconstruction of Baku-Boyuk Kasik railway line will last 3 years and be completed in 2014, said the head engineer of Azerbaijan Railway Gurban Nazirov.

According to him, the works on this project have started in June. First 1 km-road was launched in Agstafa-Tatli station. Thereafter, 2-3 km-part of road is expected to construct per week. Repair works will be conducted in different parts of road: â€œGenerally, capital repair of 317 km-road is planned to be implemented in 3 years. Works must be completed in 2014â€.

As a result of reconstruction, the maximum speed will reach 140 km/hour, average speed â€“ 100-120 km/hour.
