Azerbaijani Minister of Communications and IT meets with French Minister of Industry, Energy and the Digital economy

Baku - APA-Economics. Within the framework of the visit to France for attending the 3rd meeting of the Broadband Commission for Digital Development founded under the auspices of UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon, Azerbaijani Minister of Communications and IT Ali Abbasov met with Arianespace company president Jean-Yves Le Gal, as well as with French Minister of Industry, Energy and the Digital economy Eric Besson.

Press service of the ministry told APA that mutual cooperation issues were widely discussed at the meeting. Thereupon, roundtable was organized by the participation of Azerbaijani and French ICT companies.

Delivering speech at the roundtable minister Abbasov spoke about the events realized in ICT sphere of our country. He said that Azerbaijan was interested in joint cooperation with France in direction of development of cosmic industry, digital television and establishment of internet economy.

In turn, the French side appreciated the steps taken in Azerbaijan in direction of development of cosmic industry.

Thereafter, representatives of IT and telecommunication companies of both countries continued the negotiations.

At the end of the event, it was decided to organize France-Azerbaijan ICT Forum between Azerbaijanâ€™s leading ICT companies and French companies functioning in this sphere.

Azerbaijani ambassador to France Elchin Amirbayov attended the meetings too.
