Azerbaijani Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies holds board meeting â€“ <font color=red>PHOTO</font>

Baku. Nijat MUstafayev â€“ APA-Economics. Azerbaijani Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies has held board meeting on outcomes of first quarter of 2011.

According to Ministry, Minister Ali Abbasov noted that ICT had great commercial importance, changed to the great income source and these incomes would influence the Azerbaijanâ€™s economy.

It was also noted that, the growth rate in ICT sector made 24.7% in the first quarter, including 19.2% - in telecommunication sector, 2.3 times â€“ in IT sector, 1.6 times in information sector: â€œAt the same time, share of income by ICT, post and information sector in GDP made 1.9%â€.

Besides, the minister gave tasks on fulfilment of State Programs, launch of cosmic satellite into orbit, realization of e-government and Trans-Eurasian Information Superhighway projects, application of digital TV, extension of banking services in postal sector, establishment of healthy competitive environment in private sector and Regional Information Services Centres and etc.
