Sea shipments rise in Azerbaijan

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. The volume of the cargo shipped by sea in Azerbaijan increased 3.3% within the past year and made up 2 million tons in January-February, 2011. The State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics that oil shipments accounted 61.6% of the cargo transportation, leaving 38.4% for dry cargo.
2 million tons of handling operations were conducted in the sea ports in the reporting period. 36.1% increase was recorded. International transit cargos rose 37.4%, import cargos â€“ 68.2%, export cargos decreased 28%.
