Cargo transportation on Azerbaijan part of TRACECA rises 12%

Baku. Vahab Rzayev â€“ APA-Economics. 4.6 million tons of cargo and 20 million people were carried through Azerbaijan part of the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) during January, 2011, up 12.1% and 7% respectively on the same period last year.
Azerbaijan State Statistical Committee told APA-Economics that 42.3% of shipments were transported by road, 36.2% by rail, 21.5% by sea.
Shipments by sea increased 41.3%, by road 6.5%, by rail 5.6%.
AZN 29.5 million was earned from cargo transportation, AZN 5.8 million from passenger transportation, up 18.5% and 15.3% respectively.
