Two officials of the State Tax Service of Azerbaijan arrested on charges of bribe

During the operational-search activities carried out by the Main Directorate for Combating Corruption under the Prosecutor General's Office, illegal actions of the head of the Territorial Tax Department No. 8 of the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy Adilov Zaur Sefi oglu and the head of the field tax inspection department Ajdar Nasib oglu Aliyev, who took bribes from citizens, were revealed, APA reports citing General Prosecutor's Office.

According to the General Prosecutor's Office, as a result of operational activities carried out in December this year, grounds for suspicion were identified that Zaur Adilov and Ajdar Aliyev, having entered into a criminal conspiracy, demanded and received large bribes in December this year in exchange for in order not to conduct an on-site tax inspection in a Limited Liability Company.

During the search of Zaur Adilov, as well as Ajdar Aliyev, who was caught red-handed while receiving part of these funds from a citizen, and in his office room, evidence relevant to the case was found and confiscated.

In this regard, a criminal case was initiated in the Main Directorate under the relevant articles of the Criminal Code, on the basis of the collected preliminary evidence, these officials were held criminally liable under Article 308.2 (abuse of official powers that entailed grave consequences), 311.3. persons by prior agreement or by an organized group) and 311.3.3 (receiving a bribe on a large scale), by a court decision, a measure of restraint in the form of arrest was chosen for them.

At present, investigative and operational-search activities are ongoing in the criminal case.
