“If there are no new fires in Turkey, others will be extinguished in a short period of time", Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Lieutenant General Etibar Mirzayev told journalists, APA's correspondent sent to Turkey reports.
The deputy minister noted that Azerbaijani firefighters have operated in 14 regions totally at the strongest time of fires: “They have fought with selflessness in order to extinguish the wildfires Near Yenikoy and Kemarkoy Thermal Power Stations of strategic importance, as well as in Koycegiz, Milas, Kavaklidere, Marmaris and other settlements of Mugla province. The protection strip has been created with the help of Azerbaijani firefighters in order to protect Yenikoy and Kemarkoy Thermal Power Stations. If there are no new fires, others will be extinguished in a short period of time”.
E. Mirzayev noted that currently, 743 employees of Azerbaijani MES operate in Turkey: “Alongside this, 97 vehicles, including 77 fire engines, 6 pump cars, 1 fuel tank, 4 headquarters cars, 2 buses, and 1 pickup, as well as auxiliary equipment, BE-200CS amphibious aircraft, and 1 helicopter have been involved in the extinguishing wildfires in Turkey”.
