217 of 223 wildfires that occurred in the last 10 days in Turkey have been taken under control, said Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli in his statement to the mass media regarding the current situation of the wildfires in Turkey, APA’s local bureau reports.
The Minister noted that the fight is being continued in order to extinguish Mugla 4 - Kavaklıdere, Milas, Goyçiyez, Yatağan, Chile, and Sparta, Sutchuler, a total of 6 wildfires. The minister talking about the current situation regarding the ongoing fires said that there is not any danger of fire in Milas to Yenikoy Thermal Power Plants that locates nearby.
The minister said that 15,000 hectares of agricultural land in Antalya were damaged by fires that started on July 28 and were extinguished yesterday.
