Azerbaijan's initiates criminal case on death of two border guards: one detained

A criminal case has been launched in connection with the death of two Azerbaijani border guards, one has been detained, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office told APA.

Note that on May 15, at about 4 p.m., it was found out that three unknown persons violated the state border in the service area of the “Goytapa” border detachment of the State Border Service Border Troops in the service area of the border post near Gendera village of Yardimli region of Azerbaijan.

The border violators did not obey the "Stop" order of the border guard, opened fire on the border guard, tried to flee the scene.

Senior lieutenant Eyvazov Samir Elmar oglu and master sergeant Alimov Farid Elchin oglu were wounded as a result of firing by border violators. The servicemen were immediately taken to a medical facility, but their lives could not be saved.

About 10 kg of drug-like substances were found at the scene.
