"235 fires started in 240 places in Turkey have been extinguished, while other fires are under control," Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Lieutenant General Etibar Mirzayev told journalists, APA's correspondent sent to Turkey reports.
The deputy minister said that with the exception of three of them, the others are under control: "At present, Pinar, Karayer, Kabakcha, Chayhisar villages in Koycegiz district are protected by our firefighters. The protection zone covers an area of 11 km. Our 100-person staff is cooling the fires."
Mr. Mirzayev noted that currently 743 firefighters, civil defense and special services of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan continue their activities in the fraternal country.
