Baku–APA. Members of the Human Rights Monitoring Group – Chingiz Ganizadeh, Novella Jafaroglu, Saadat Bananyarli and Saida Gojamanl intend to meet with Interior Minister Ramil Usubov over the action of law he raised against the Director of the Peace and Democracy Institute Leila Yunus, Ganizadeh told APA. The human rights defenders want to resolve the issue peacefully, not in a court case. Ganizadeh said they already requested the minister to meet with them.
Interior Minister Ramil Usubov addressed Nasimi District Court where he said Leila Yunus slandered against the Interior Ministry and damaged the efficient character of the police institutions in her interview with Day.az. The minister demanded Leila Yunus to deny her slanders, to apologize to the ministry and to pay 100 thousand AZN fine for psychological damage.
Nasimi District Court postponed Tuesday hearing until January 22.
